Jennifer | Trash the Dress

Jennifer and Brian fell in love when she was just 14.  Unlike many other “young love’s” that fade away after a time, theirs continued to blossom until they got married six years later.  After a few years Jennifer and Brian, like many couples, had a child, a son.  Then, this past March, Brian passed away in a tragic accident.  They had planned to renew their vows at their 10 year reunion and Jennifer had hoped to one day pass her beautiful gown on to a daughter, but now, as you can see, that would never be possible.   Jennifer wanted to do something fun in order to preserve her memories in her gown, instead of just letting it sit in the box.  This is when she contacted me and I am so excited to share these images with you.

This session has touched me like none other before.  Last night I laid in bed not able to sleep because I was so excited and nervous to have this session.   I wanted it to be everything Jennifer wanted, and more.

Jennifer was absolutely gorgeous today, and each time someone said, “Congrats!” my heart broke because they did not know the real reason for the session, but she smiled and said “thank-you” each time.  She is an incredible woman who has endured an incredible loss.

Sarah & Rich are married! | Richmond Virginia Wedding Photographer

October was such a busy month that I am finally getting to play bloggy-catch up!  The boudoir blog has seen a lot of action over the past couple of days so if you'd like check over there after you read this post.  My first priority is giving images to the clients, then getting to the blogging when I have free time.  Clients receive their images in the mail in about a week of having their session, and a "sneak peak" is posted on facebook only a day or so after the session!

Now, onto the reason for this post.  Sarah & Rich.  They had a beautiful October wedding.  This couple is so good looking and so much fun, I was very excited to shoot their wedding!  Sarah wanted to make sure every family member was there celebrating with her, even if they had already passed away- and she created the most beautiful bouquet including pictures in honor of her Grandfathers and Grandmother.

Here is a quick look into their fabulous day:

Congrats Sarah & Rich!

Every time I look at this session it brings a smile to my face!

Autumn { Class of 2010

I have said it before and I will say it again, Seniors are so much fun!  Autumn & I met up for a few hours going around a few places in my hometown.  When I left my small town of no stop lights for the city life in DC I vowed to never return.  I was "a southern girl with big city dreams" who planned on leaving the "southern girl" behind.  However, upon meeting my husband and moving outside of Richmond, VA-- I find myself back there quite often..whether it's for business or visiting my family-- each time I go there I wonder why I hated it for so many years.

Fall is my absolute favoritetime of year.  I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to have sessions with clients during this beautiful season.  It was another cloudy day in Virginia yesterday but we managed for find a few pockets of light and get some great portraits!  Miss Kaitlyn was a natural in front of the camera and I hope to have another session with her in the future!
